Vision of the Department Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice aims to provide the necessaryskills and abilities to students in order to serve the needs of business, industrieswith more relevance to the existing work situations. It has become indispensable to impart abilities and skill to cope up with the era of information technology,in accordance with Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization as well as digitilisation of the economy. Mission of the Department M1: To produce able and efficient Stenographers, accountants, Computer Operators using office automation equipment for various Government, Public Sector and Private Sector Organisations. M2: To motivate and provide moral support to all the students to achieve 0% dropouts and 100% pass. M3: To enable the Students to become competent in the operation of latest computer peripherals and practice modern procedures in business administration. M4: To enable students to besensitive to the ethical issues pertinent to the stenography profession and to achieve 100% placements. DIPLOMA IN COMMERCIAL AND COMPUTER PRACTICE COURSE was started in the year 1968 right from the date of the establishment of the Institution with subjects of English Shorthand, English Typewriting, Accountancy, Commercial Maths, Commercial Correspondence and English. It was originally a Two years Diploma in Commercial Practice course, with a provision to prosecute higher studies. i.e. B.A. or B.Com., In the year 1988, computer subjects are also included in the curriculum and nomenclature of the course was changed as DIPLOMA IN COMMERCIAL AND COMPUTER PRACTICE. From the year 1990 under C-90 syllabus the Duration of the course was changed to Three Years. After the successful completion of the course, the students are permitted to join directly into 2nd year of B.Com. The passed out candidates of this course are having wide range of career opportunities like Personnel Assistants, Stenographers, Typists, Accountants, Data Entry operators, Computer operator and Clerks in various State and Central Government Organizations like SHAR, ISRO , various State Government Offices, Courts and in Central Government Offices and Public and Private sector organizations. This course has spacious laboratories for having hands on training to the students. One is Computer Laboratory and another is English Typewriting Lab
